We finally got the e-songbook up and running again. If you go to the website and click on the “E-Songbook” button it will take you to the main search page. Type in any word that you want to look up and it will find a song with that word in it.
The songbook only contains about 100 songs at the moment, but I hope to increase that number soon. If you want to include songs that you have written please send them as an e-mail to me. webmaster@filk.com

3) Help save Internet radio!

Yes, this is a repeat from the last newsletter, but it’s important for you to help filk radio and Internet radio. Many stations have announced that they will be shutting down. Already you may have heard that Live365 (the system that Filk Radio uses) has increased the number of commercials per hour that it plays to help cover the cost.
For those of you who missed it the first time The Copyright Royalty Board (CRB) issued the significantly higher new royalty rates for Internet radio for the 2006-2010 periods to the tune of 149% increase.

Please take the time to write to your Senators and Representatives. Send both an e-mail message and a paper snail mail message. It is important for you to take the time to do this! Don’t let the big corporations take control of the internet radio the way they have taken control of regular radio.
